Lithium electric dipole polarizability
The electric dipole polarizability of the lithium atom in the ground state is calculated including relativistic and quantum electrodynamics corrections. The obtained result αE = 164.074 0(5) a.u. is in a good agreement with the less accurate experimental value of 164.19(1.08) a.u. The small uncertainty of about 2ppm comes from the approximate treatment of quantum electrodynamics corrections. Ou...
متن کاملHypertriton Electric Polarizability
A rigorous formalism for determining the electric dipole polarizability of a threehadron bound complex in the case that the system has only one bound (ground) state has been elaborated. On its basis, by applying a model wave function that takes into account specific features of the structure of the lightest hypernucleus and using the known low-energy experimental data for the p − n and Λ − d sy...
متن کاملTests of Electric Polarizability on the Lattice
Using clover fermions on CP-PACS dynamical configurations, we consider a number of ways of measuring hadronic electric polarizability, an |E|2 effect in hadron masses, using lattice techniques. We consider the effects of periodic and Dirichlet boundary conditions, the field linearization postulate as well as a quantized electric field. We also consider two ways of formulating the classical vect...
متن کاملGeneralized Electric Polarizability of the Proton from Skyrme Model
We calculate the electric polarizability α(q2) of the proton in virtual Compton scattering using the Skyrme model. The q2 dependence of the polarizability is comparable with the predictions obtained from the non-relativistic quark model and the linear sigma model. The chiral behaviors of our α(0) and d2α(0)/d2q2 agree with the results of the chiral perturbation theory. The discrepancy can be tr...
